Mixed Age Music Together®® Classes (0-4yrs)

A group of six to eight children and their parents and caregivers are invited to meet for 45 minutes each week to enjoy a variety of playful musical activities.  The Music Together teacher guides the class through traditional and original songs and chants with a broad mix of tonalities, meters and cultural styles.  A dozen experiences are included in each class including singing, small and large movement, instrument play, props, dancing, improvisation and more.  The approach is fun and interactive and incorporates informal instruction.  It's a relaxed atmosphere that invites and encourages participation by both children and adults, regardless of musical skill, talent or training.  In a Music Together class, families rediscover the pleasure and educational value of informal, homemade musical experiences. Class fees include songbook, 2 cds and other instructional materials.

 

 

Music Together class for children with special needs (0-5yrs)

A group of six to eight children and their parents and caregivers are invited to meet for 45 minutes each week to enjoy a variety of playful musical activities.  The Music Together teacher/therapist guides the class through traditional and original songs and chants with a broad mix of tonalities, meters and cultural styles.  A dozen experiences are included in each class including singing, small and large movement, instrument play, props, dancing, improvisation and more.  The approach is fun and interactive and incorporates informal instruction.  It's a relaxed atmosphere that invites and encourages participation by both children and adults, regardless of musical skill, talent or training.  In a Music Together class, families rediscover the pleasure and educational value of informal, homemade musical experiences. Special care is given to the need of each student in these classes and curriculum plans may adjust accordingly.

 

The Babies Only (0-9mos) offering is a one-semester introduction to Music Together for the infant to crawler (0-9 mo.) and their parent/caregiver, after which the family enrolls in mixed-age classes. The music activities and materials are especially designed for parents who want to learn as much as possible about music development in infants. The music in this collection is compiled from other Music Together collections and is especially appropriate for infants who are not yet mobile.

Class fees include songbook, 2 cds and other instructional materials.

 

Music Together Big Kids® (5-7), Optional drop-off 

If your child is 5, 6 or 7 and you are wondering what the next step should be in their musical development, please check out our Music Together Big Kids™ classes. Each 60-minute, 10-week class is geared to the interests and abilities of 5-, 6-, and 7-year-olds. The program blends the elements of Music Together that parents and children love with new activities, skills, and challenges that are developmentally appropriate for this age group.

Big Kids classes lay the foundation for Basic Music Literacy, complementing music instruction in school or instrument lessons, and leading to a lifetime of joyful music making. It may also be the appropriate next step for your children after mixed-age classes  but before formal music instruction.The curriculum includes solfège, solos and ensembles, folk dances, harmony singing, vocal development, and drumming. In a safe, fun environment, your child can experiment with new activities like conducting and improvisation, story songs, and game songs.

Each family receives a Big Kids songbook, CD, solfège cards, and HomePlay activities, so that the entire family can continue the fun and learning at home and parents can stay connected with what the child is learning in class.

Music Together centers all around the world are taking this unique opportunity to create the same kind of meaningful music-making experience you are used to from our live classes in the comfort of your own home. The Music Together songs and activities were always meant to be carried into your daily routines at home. With Music Together online, our teachers will have a chance to virtually make music with you and your little ones in your own living room, family room, kitchen, dining room - or any room at all! You can even invite your friends and family from different locations in the country to join our classes by registering, so we can all make Music Together!
